As we enter February, what is life like for you at the moment? Busy? Hectic? Has the first month of the new year passed in a blur? As leaders and influencers in diverse spheres, it is important that we are 'looking after ourselves'. God doesn't want us to become drained by the pressures of ministry and everyday life.
In February, Sophia Network is drawing attention to the importance of looking after our relationships with friends and families as well as protecting our mental health. Our update includes:
- The Power of Forgiveness - a devotional by Jennie Fytche
- A Q&A with Helen Forsythe about the importance of 'breaking the silence' on mental illness
- It's Never OK - an article by Natalie Collins about the recent Lord Rennard sexual harassment controversy
- When The Honeymoon Ends - review by Claire Rush of two books about sexual intimacy in marriage
Our website also features upcoming external events aimed to equip and encourage leaders to fulfil their calling. These include the Coming Untangled retreat, the Christian Feminist Network's Reclaiming the F Word workshop and GB's new Esther Collective intiative which aims to equip 18-30s women leaders to serve the world.
We are planning a lot of exciting things over the next few months in Sophia Network including a special daily web series in March to celebrate International Woman's Day... so watch this space.
As Trustees we have also decided due to ongoing costs and not much use by our members that we will no longer subscribe to Socialgo, which is the organisation that runs the membership section of our website. So from now on anyone who wishes to become a member of Sophia Network will sign up for the monthly newsletter here and/or join our Facebook community. If you have any questions about this, then please do get in touch.
I hope you have a great February – keep warm and look forward to spring!
God bless
Sharon
