5:42am - Random dream about being chased by crocodiles is abruptly interrupted by a crying little man demanding hug, nappy change and warm milk.
6:03am - Stumble downstairs, collect a pile of interesting (noise-free) toys and place them by sofa while multi-tasking sleep and play at the same time. Occasionally close eyes, until they are reopened as a result of a wooden mallet being wacked on head!
7:15am - Feed little man Weetabix while attempting to read the Bible (My First Bible, six-page version).
8:00am – Head back upstairs, climb back into bed and let little man crawl excitedly all over Daddy.
8:05am - Shower.
8:12am - Dry hair while entertaining little man in his cot (Daddy now up and in shower).
8:17am - Everyone gets dressed. This includes little man emptying drawers all over the room!
8:20am - Spend a good couple of minutes figuring out a way to cover up that chocolate-induced spot that is shouting at me “Ha ha! You know you shouldn’t have!”
8:45am - Grab everything and leave the house for work.
8:46am - Refocus, refocus, refocus. Mother mode off, Pastor mode on. Think chilled, think holy, think peace, think “Shine Jesus Shine” and rainbow guitar straps. Ok, maybe not the last bit!
9:10am - Computer on, coffee in hand, try to relax.
9:10-4:00pm - Work, work, plan, plan, organise, smile and smile again. Pray, eat, call, listen, laugh, learn, enjoy, chat, network, cry, think, and breathe.
4:00pm – Sit in an irritating amount of traffic, while depending on how the day has gone, listen to Steve Wright or Steve Curtis Chapman.
4:30pm - Return home (pastor mode off, mother mode on), roll around on the floor, make random noises all in the name of play (is anyone relating to this?!). Bath little man while Daddy makes dinner. Eat, tidy, tidy, tidy. Watch a bizarre programme with Ninky Nonks and Pontipines, give little man milk and take him to bed.
7:00pm – And Relax!
7:01pm – Go, go, go. Tidy, tidy, tidy, freshen up, and beautifully present cakes on a plate.
7:25pm – Welcome the other elders to our tidy, fresh smelling, extremely organised and ordered home where everything is good and pleasant!
11:15pm – Bed!
