Our update this month has come out a week late to coincide with International Day of the Girl. This is an important day so please can we encourage you to prayerfully consider the things you can do to contribute and raise awareness both of the day itself and the reason behind the day.
Please also look out for initiatives from organisations such as Girls' Brigade Worldwide which you can support. (Today GB has launched its hope-filled #iamgb video featuring transformation stories from around the global GB family. Watch #iamgb and be encouraged by how God is working in the lives of girls across the world).
By the time our next update reaches your inbox our trustees will be preparing to meet for what will be a significant meeting for the future of Sophia. As chair Vicky Thompson said to those present at our equipping day, we are entering an exciting period in the life of Sophia. The board of trustees is relatively new and we are looking to establish a sense of the strategic direction for the network over the next few years. We would value your prayers for this meeting on November 3rd.
Once again, please see the request for contributions at the end of the update. I’m pleased that our last request had already borne fruit. Sophia is a network that functions at its best when the people who form the network are contributing to the collective and collaborative learning of us all.
This month we have the following features and articles;
We identify five UK initiatives turning up the volume of hope for girls and young people.
Claire Rush shares her reflections on how we can avoid running on empty
Dan Crouch offers his reflections on our equipping day back in September.
Can you contribute? Sophia is a network that functions at its best when the people who form the network are contributing to the collective and collaborative learning of us all.
