Plan UK, A World at School and Southbank Centre have the pleasure of inviting you to day of activities to stand in solidarity with Malala and young people everywhere campaigning for the right to education.
12th July 2013 is Malala Yousafzai’s 16th birthday: a day she might not have lived to see, having been
shot at the age of 15 simply for campaigning for girls’ education.
Malala will mark her birthday by leading the first ever youth takeover of the UN General Assembly in New York. Malala will deliver the highest leadership of the UN an official youth ‘Call to Action’ on their vision for education and ending poverty.
Malala Day London is your chance to be part of a powerful global day of action in support of the right to education.
Join us at London’s Southbank Centre for a live screening of Malala’s first public address since the shocking attack, a youth led panel discussion with very special guests and the premiere of a new film on girls’ education under attack.
Time: 12th July, 2.15–4.15pm
Location: Queen Elizabeth Hall Front Room, Southbank Centre London
Note that this is a non-ticketed public event and seating is limited.
