Restored, the Christian alliance working to end violence against women, is now one year old, and to celebrate they are holding a day conference at Teddington Baptist Church on 4 October 2011, from 9:30am to 2pm.
Elaine Storkey will be the keynote speaker and there'll be reports on Restored's work over the last year. Everyone is welcome and if you'd like to attend, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Restored has also launched their campaign to encourage men to be proactive in ending violence against women, in partnership with Christian Vision for Men. First Man Standing offers an opportunity for men everywhere 'to be the first in their family, club, church or workplace to stand up and speak out about building strong relationships and ending violence against women.' Men are encouraged to respect women, challenge inappropriate behaviour and language, and to join the cause and make a pledge. There's more information on Restored's website.
