I was horrified when I heard this report. Ultimately you are dealing with a person. Why, for the sake of a sporting activity, should something so intensely private is dragged through the media? I just find that aspect of it morally suspect, to say the very least.


I was upset by the way this was reported too. I listen to a sports radio station during the day where all the presenters are male. When this story broke it caused uproar on the station with presenters making comments like "well, have you seen pictures of her... no surprise really". Disappointingly stereotypical behaviour and really dehumanising. I wonder what impact that had on all the intersex listeners they no doubt have.
